May 28, 2024

For immediate release

VICTORIA, B.C. — For those that can’t wait for the HarbourCats home opener on Friday, June 7, the HarbourCats are pleased to announce that they are holding a pair of pre-season events at Wilson’s Group Stadium involving the Greater Victoria Mixed Slo-Pitch Association and the BC Premier Baseball League Victoria Eagles and Victoria Mariners.

First, on Sunday, June 2 at 1:00 pm, the Greater Victoria Mixed Slo-Pitch Association will take the field and put on a trio of recreational slo-pitch games, showcasing the talent that is present in Vancouver Island’s largest slo-pitch association.

Then on Tuesday, June 4, at 6:35 pm, the Victoria Eagles and Victoria Mariners will renew their cross-town BC Premier Baseball League rivalry, with a league game at the stadium. This game will also serve as a dry-run for all HarbourCats staff, so we will be running this game just like a regular HarbourCats game, with a full slate of promotions and activities and prizes for many fans!

The Eagles currently sit third in the BCPBL standings and their games with the Mariners are always a highlight of the season, so be sure to come down and support some of the best high school baseball in the province.

Admission for both games will be just $10.00 at the gate, or stop by the HarbourCats office in advance to get your ticket for either event. Seating is open seating and our Upper Deck Bus and Third Base Party Deck will be open for people to try out and enjoy. Note, these games are not included in HarbourCats season ticket holder packages, but season ticket holders will have first rights to their regular seats!

Food trucks and the city concessions will be open for both games, however the beer concession will not be open for the Eagles and Mariners game.

HarbourCats players and coaches will also be on hand at the Eagles/Mariners game for a bit of a pre-season meet and greet.

The HarbourCats open on the road May 31 in Kamloops, the start of back-to-back series in Kamloops and Kelowna, before returning for the June 7 home opener against Wenatchee. The HarbourCats will be on the road this summer in Kamloops, Kelowna, Edmonton, Wenatchee, Ridgefield, Port Angeles, Bellingham, and six games in Nanaimo against the Island-rival NightOwls at Serauxmen Stadium. Teams visiting Victoria this year are Wenatchee, Nanaimo, Bellingham, Port Angeles, Kelowna, Edmonton (two series), Kamloops and Corvallis, along with non-league games against the Redmond Dudes, Dub Sea Fish Sticks, the SIBL All-Stars, and Victoria Mavericks All-Stars.

The regular season runs until August 7, with WCL playoffs running from August 10 to August 16.

Single game tickets are now available for the HarbourCats 2024 season including the home opener on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 6:35pm against the Kamloops NorthPaws. These can be purchased online through our one and only ticketing partner, Select Your Tickets, at www.harbourcats.com/tickets or at the HarbourCats office at 101-1814 Vancouver Street.

Victoria HarbourCats – VISL, HarbourCats, NightOwls enter strategic partnership

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 21, 2024

VICTORIA, B.C. — Different sports, but the same community ideals.

The Victoria HarbourCats and Nanaimo NightOwls, of baseball’s West Coast League, and the Vancouver Island Soccer League (VISL), have entered into a strategic partnership intended to assist the entities in growing grassroots sports and improving facilities on Vancouver Island.

The VISL provides programming and championships on the Island and leads leagues which give the best soccer players an avenue to play the sport for life. Championships such as the Jackson Cup, with many finals played at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria, serve as the crown jewel of the VISL.

More than 6,000 participants are involved with the VISL — sports fans, who will keep track of the Island’s top baseball programs, the HarbourCats and NightOwls, who combined to draw more than 100,000 spectators in 2024.

The baseball teams and VISL will jointly promote each others’ schedules, and provide opportunities for youth participation.

“The atmosphere at HarbourCats and NightOwls games showcase the top fan engagement on the Island, a true gathering point in our communities,” said VISL Executive Director Vince Greco.

“Baseball fans are soccer fans, and soccer fans are baseball fans — it’s about supporting quality programs on the island and furthering awareness. Adding youth opportunities between the two will be the cherry on top.”

Watch for VISL events to recognize the work of the HarbourCats and NightOwls, and feature baseball games to celebrate the success of the VISL.

For more information on the VISL and their programs and offerings, please visit their website HERE.

The HarbourCats 2025 schedule has now been announced!  DETAILS HERE

Single-game tickets and 10-game flex pack voucher renewals are NOT YET AVAILABLE, but will be once the ticketing system is set up for the 2025 season.  We will announce this when ready!
