Victoria, BC – The losing streak stops at one.
Dallas Macias had a three-hit night, had two walks, two RBI and two runs scored to help lead the Victoria HarbourCats to a 7-4 win over the Edmonton Riverhawks in West Coast League action Tuesday night at Wilsons Group Stadium in Victoria.
The win improves the HarbourCats record to 12-4 overall (9-1 at home) and keeps them in the hunt for the first-half North Division title, with Bellingham (10-3), who lost 6-4 to Kelowna, and Wenatchee (11-4), who were rained out in Kamloops.
The HarbourCats jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first thanks to RBI-singles from Tyler Davis and Macias, but saw that lead disappear in the third, when the ‘Hawks finally got to ‘Cats starter Jack Seward for three runs.

A solo home run by Nick Dumesnil in the bottom of the fourth brought the HarbourCats even and then runs in each of the bottom of the fifth sixth, seventh and eighth innings, put the game out of reach for the Riverhawks.
Along with Macias, Hudson Shupe also had a three-hit night, raising his average to a scorching .563 since joining the team last weekend, while Demesnil, Davis and Brandon Green each finished the night with a pair of hits.

For Edmonton, Daniel Calabrese had a three-hit night with a double, RBI and a run scored, while Noah Boughton and Tommy Takayoshi contributed two hits each to the losing cause. Starter Halen Knoll takes the loss, giving up four runs on nine hits over five innings of work.
The HarbourCats and Riverhawks are right back at it on Wednesday night at 6:35 pm on National Indigenous People’s Day. Fans are encouraged to wear orange shirts in honor of the residential school survivors and to come out and celebrate the history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis across Canada.
