LONDON – The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of infielder Tommy Reyes-Cruz.
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Reyes-Cruz had 22 RBIs with 7 walks in 25 games last season with the Sherbrooke Expos. He will be the second Expo to play for the Majors’ joining former dual-threat Majors Ismael Pena. Reyes-Cruz studied Sports Management at Faulkner University where in 2022 he hit 0.280 with 23 hits in 19 games while accumulating 20 RBIs playing in the Southern States Athletic Conference. Over his 3 seasons at Faulkner University Tommy hit for an average of .272 with 10 doubles,5 home runs and 69 RBIs.
Manager Roop Chanderdat adds another infielder to the roster “Reyes-Cruz will be a good addition to our infield. Defensively he can play 2nd and 3rd and has proven to be a quality hitter both in college and in the LBMQ.”
The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world. The league was established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
