HAMILTON – Aidan Muir’s bases-loaded single scored Tanner Rempel in the bottom of the ninth to give Hamilton a 10-9 win over London on Sunday afternoon at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium. 

Muir finished 2-for-4, while Luis Bernardo had four hits, including a home run, and three RBI. Bernardo (1-1) also picked up the win on the mound, tossing two scoreless innings with a walk. 

Rempel went 2-for-4 with two runs, Brandon Nicholson scored twice, and Quin Cotton and Dennis Dei Baning each drove in a run. 

For London, Starling Joseph homered twice and drove in four. Brett Graham had two hits and two RBI, Tommy Reyes-Cruz went 3-for-4 with two runs, and Josh Williams and Will Pollard each drove in a run. 

Robert Mackie (0-1) took the loss, giving up three runs on four hits over 4.1 innings. He walked four and struck out two. Jordan Schulefand started and went four innings, giving up seven runs (five earned) on eight hits, with three walks and five strikeouts. 

Hamilton improved to 17-22, and London dropped to 13-24. 

Solazzo leads Leafs past Red Sox 

TORONTO – Johnathan Solazzo homered and drove in four to lead the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 17-2 win over Brantford on Sunday afternoon at Christie Pits. 

Solazzo added a double as part of the Leafs’ 14-hit attack. Jose Vinicio  also went deep and drove in three. Grant Tamane had two hits and three RBI, Jordan Castaldo went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Dan Marra singled, doubled, drove in two and scored twice, and Robin Fox-Pappas, Yoichi Ishihara and Jesse Hodges all had an RBI. 

Marek Deska (2-2) struck out five over three scoreless innings of relief for the win. Daniel Procopio started and went two innings and struck out two and walked two without giving up a run. 

For Brantford, Tyler Wilson drove in a run. Christian Kuzemka had two hits and Gus Wilson scored twice. 

Jeremias Sucre (1-6) took the loss, allowing six runs on six hits over 3.1 innings. He walked two and fanned four. 

Toronto improved to 19-18, and Brantford fell to 8-29. 

Jackfish doubles Baycats

BARRIE – Welland solidified its spot atop the IBL standings with an 8-4 win in Barrie on Sunday. 

Caleb Feuerstake went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI for the Jackfish (29-10), which leads third-place Barrie by 4.5 games. Kitchener is four games back. Hogan Brown had four hits and an RBI, Matteo Porcellato went 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, Tyler Dupuis drove in three on three hits and Gianfranco Morello had an RBI. 

Jake Harford (4-2) went 5.1 innings for the win. He gave up a run on one hit with three walks and six strikeouts. 

Ryan Rijo supplied most of the Baycats’ offence with a three-run blast in the eighth inning. Hayden Jaco drove in a run.

Frank Garces (6-1) allowed three runs (two earned) on nine hits over seven innings. He struck out 10 without issuing a walk. 

Barrie dropped to 24-14.
